In February 1986 Gerald Reeves was hired as Head Coach.
In August LPSB reduced Coaching supplements and Reeves resigned. Gene Colvin was named Interim Coach initially.
Howard McCarty left his position as principal at LaSalle High to take the position as Head Coach at Jena before the season started.
